CTR – CENTER FOR "INTELLIGENT SENSOR-ACTUATOR SYSTEMS"

CTR carries out industry-oriented contract R&D in the area of intelligent sensor-actuator systems.
Smart sensors and actuators are key technologies in all industries where electronics are used for measuring, testing, monitoring and automating operations. The sensors do the detecting and the actuators make the devices move or start working.

This ranges from manufacturing industry in its entirety to wide areas of the craft trades, the information and semiconductor industry, the medicine and environment area, building und communications techniques, automotive- and mechanical engineering up to the private environment of each individual person. Sensors and actuators are found in production equipment, e.g. in machinery, plant and tools for the manufacture of end products as well as in the end products themselves, from the automobile to the aeroplane to the space station, from security equipment in the private sphere to the monitoring of power plant, from toys to domestic appliances to entertainment electronics, from robots to information technology etc.
