Client:
mechatronic systemtechnik / ELAN Sports Goods
Background:
As a producer of skis and snowboards,
ELAN is a synonym for top-quality products. Aim of the project was to develop an automatic snowboard handling and machining system for stable and precise mechanical linkage of the binding to the board. The challenge for CTR within the project coordinated by
mechatronic systemtechnik GmbH was to find a way to detect threaded inserts in the board that are covered by a special coated film and hence difficult to detect. With the CTR system, these inserts can be detected automatically in a contact-free operation mode using an image processing system. The parameters obtained form the system can be forwarded in real-time to the next process step to be used as control input parameters there.
