Expertise in science and technology

COMET K1 promotes in-depth cooperation between science and industry in the field of technology. CTR is a K1 centre of excellence for smart sensors and focuses on application-oriented research.

Focus on research and industry

K1 competence centres concentrate on scientific and technological developments that are becoming increasingly important for future markets. The projects receiving funding therefore combine technological excellence with commercial orientation. With R&D in many different sensor technologies, CTR has become established as a K1 research centre for intelligent sensors. CTR does not simply develop technological expertise in these areas but also passes it on to local companies, contributing to successful business services.

Becoming a COMET K1 partner

COMET K1 gives companies the opportunity to implement research projects together with CTR and receive up to 50% in funding. The CTR COMET consortium helps to bring together partners from the areas of science and industry. Together with such companies, we embark on ambitious strategic research projects of the highest level with the focus always on practical application.

Funding and procedure

The CTR K1 centre is funded by the Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT), Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth (BMWFJ), and the Carinthian and Styrian provincial governments under the COMET (Competence Centres for Excellent Technologies) programme. FFG manages the COMET programme.
